About Tessy
Tessy was fortunate to have been raised in the untamed beauty of rural Dartmoor. A childhood spent among the granite tors and wild moorland certainly gave her a passion for the countryside and spirituality. Now living in Bristol, Tessy is a mother, and enjoys an active lifestyle within nature, where much inspiration is found for her stories and poetry.
Featured previously on BBC Radio Cornwall & BBC Radio Somerset, as well as UPLOAD Bristol, Tessy's poetry and fiction is known for it's evocative nature, and with her words, the author has a special ability to whisk you away to beautiful and haunting locations in the south west of England and beyond.
Although now focussing primarily on fiction, Tessy still writes poetry from time to time, sharing new work on the socials such as Facebook and Instagram.

On that familiar road
a dusky light does creep,
and all along the horizon
the granite tors they weep.
The landscape falls and rises,
in sombre mood she moans,
the sad songs of the moorland
rippling through her bones.
The silhouettes they haunt us,
St Michael’s on Brent Tor.
Our sleeping Lion of Sheepstor
Lets out its desperate roar.
A twilight murk fills the air,
heaviness now hangs low.
I beg the Moor to stop her tears,
not let her sadness show.
Along that stretch of road
the edge of Dartmoor sweeps,
and all along the horizon
the granite tors they weep.
